LETS HAVE SOME FUN

In the early 1980's pro wrestling was a different world. A world in which most of the top guys were considered superstars by the fans and very little information was known about them. These people were a complete mystery to most, if not all wrestling fans. There wasn't any internet. So that means there weren’t any spoilers to their matches. There weren’t any sites with all their personal information, past gimmicks, mug shots, exact height & weight, name of their spouses and reason why they're getting divorce. None of that existed or was easily available to the wrestling fan. Why? Well for one I think most people didn't care and second, the technology wasn't available. Now fast forward to 2014 and all of this has been available for us since the infancy of the internet. As a wrestling fan you do get curious about some wrestlers and take an interest to some of THEIR interests.

With the creation of sites like Facebook, Twitter & Instagram we've been able to take a step into the real lives of our favorite stars.

Who knew The Rock could eat so many pancakes? Or that Cesaro could lift so much weight?? Who knew Seth Rollins & Stone Cold tweet about Cross Fit? Who knew Ryback could even spell?! Or that you could easily get some feedback, comment or reply from your favorite star. It's an amazing world we live in through the internet. Some stars have taken the liberty to show us who they really are - gimmicks aside. Completely breaking from their character they hold up on television and live shows. This is ONE thing that stars of the past don't like because it is considered "breaking character" and it can ruin story lines for the company. Not only that but we've seen our fair share of photos of guys hanging out with the "other" promotion guys. It's bitter sweet when you see these things. But that comes with the territory (internet).

Any wrestling news site will have latest wrestling gossip & results to the newly taped wrestling event set to air within that same week. At times the sites will have the winners to each match before it even takes place. You're probably thinking "that's stupid!", but then again who CAN'T guess WWE results based on their past TV tapings & story lines (haha!).

Yes, it takes away from the fun of watching an event and yes, it ruins the surprise moments but some fans don't care to see a whole show or don't have time. I guess everyone's different. Point is the internet can now make or break wrestlers. This is how our generation differs from the wrestling days of the past. Your character and persona was based off your performance & gimmick. Now it's all that PLUS your internet persona - and gossip.

It seems the more involved you are with the internet the bigger following you will have. Most stars know this and take to the net to share their likes & dislikes about current wrestling affairs and other sports related news. Wrestlers now have us in the palm of their hands. They can feed us what they want and it's for us to choose to take it or leave it.

This is the world of pro wrestling now. We pick & choose who & what we like through the help of the internet. The world changes with all of its new technology and it only makes sense that it would affect everything within it, including wrestling. I love that I can see a cool interview or listen to a podcast with my current favorite wrestler talking about their indy days or hardships climbing the ladder in the WWE or TNA. I love that I can see my favorite star alongside a performer of a different company or even the guy they're feuding with.

We at The Gods of Wrestling have our likes & dislikes about everything and we like to share the stuff we DO like. We won't be offering any spoilers.

Why?  Well people have "already made like infinity of those" sites, to quote Napoleon Dynamite.

So we're trying to give you something different...

We do these blogs to show everyone what we like, what's out there, what our latest project is & what or who to look forward to in the wrestling world. So thanks to those who've read our posts and comment on our Facebook page.

In the end, wrestling is what you make it. So try to have some fun.
