So after years of not attending a WWE show and in this case a WWE "house" show, I wasn't too sure what to expect. The past WWE shows I've attended in Las Vegas were televised or ppv shows, so the card was definitely packed with good matches. It had been about 6-7 years since I've attended a WWE show and while the company is the same, the players have definitely changed. Back then it was Batista, HHH, Kane, Kurt Angle & HBK to name a few. Now, we've got a whole new cast of entertainers. When I purchased the tickets we had all the current top names on the list but that soon changed. CM Punk is now out of the WWE. So for those who bought their ticket in December, like myself, that was the first change. We also had Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes & Goldust missing..
But the show must go on right ? Correct. The show did go on. House shows are very different from Monday Night Raw or any ppv. It's a different atmosphere & different show when it comes to performing. We didn't get to see many top rope moves or anything flashy. As a matter of fact, some wrestlers didn't even take their shirts off to wrestle? Not too sure why that is but it seemed like the thing to do all night with half the wrestlers keeping their promotional shirts on. Aside from all that it was still a fun experience. The crowd went wild for many if not all superstars. We definitely got to see some entertaining stuff!
HIGHLIGHTS:
•Faann-dan-goohh vs Kofi Kingston. BUT, not one on one in a wrestling match... It was... That's right... DANCE OFF. I know what you're thinking. Stupid. Yes. Very stupid. BUT, to my surprise & everyone else's it was entertaining as hell to see Kofi dance to Michael Jackson! This guy has some moves.
• The New Age Outlaws vs The Real Americans vs The Uso's Here at TGW we are fans of Mr. Cesaro. So we were definitely happy to see his performance. Match was decent but we didn't get to see anyone launched into the air & received an uppercut. We did see Cesaro swing someone & an Uso Splash which was cool. We also got to see a six man tag
•The Shield vs D. Bryan, Christian & Shaemus. Being a Daniel Bryan fan I was excited to see the man perform in person. Tons of "YES!" chants during his entrance. The Vegas fans love Daniel Bryan. (Fun fact: Bryan was once a Vegas resident while training mma @ Xtreme Couture). After Bryan's entrance we hear a loud voice over the speakers. Complete darkness. Lights shining down on the crowd. That's right. THE SHIELD. And in Shield fashion, they came out from the crowd. Amazing thing to see at a live WWE show, especially if you're just feet away. Seeing Bryan's explosiveness live didn't disappoint. I don't get how he doesn't get tired of running back & forth and diving out the ropes! Lots of chants throughout the match. The good guys take the W for the night. The main event was promoted for the live show was
•Cena vs Orton in a cage match. The cage came down first and the wrestlers followed. Orton came out with both titles and people were cheering em on. Then Cena's music hit the speakers and all hell broke loose! Fans ranging from 4 yrs old to late 30's were cheering the People's Champ as he made his way to the steel cage. The guy is a modern day Hulk Hogan. People love the him. The match was a lot better than expected. They gave them a fair amount of time to do some in ring work with a couple close escapes from both men. We saw finishing moves from both but Orton took this one tonight. After the match we saw Orton bring in a chair to attack Cena but Johnny wasn't having it. Not tonight. Adjusted Orton's attitude right up. Great night of WWE. Also, quick shoutout to those people we met before the show while handing out flyers, stickers, buttons & free shirts. Thanks for your time & thanks for giving us a chance to show you our product.
